Angelina Jolie - Wish you a Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Whoever considers themselves a Fan of this lady, will agree upon that she is the most Hot n Fabulous action female star till now. Let it be Lara Croft, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Wanted or Salt. She has Charmed us all with her exceptional portrayals. Even some sensational roles in Gia, Girl, Interrupted, Bone Collector, Beyond the Boarders, Original Sin, Changeling and The Mighty Heart made us mesmerized by her performances.

There are hardly words to express what this lady means to me. No doubt I am a Huge fan of her acting. But when I started following her and read through her life events (which are public off course) my heart just melted. When I learned she had written a book – “Notes from my Travel” I immediately purchased and read it within a week. The events she has described in the book are so heartwarming and sad at the same time. She was just in her early twenties when she took on this quest.

And even being so young she didn’t stop when she was warned about the risks involved in visiting those places. Her notes also provide details of her interaction with the people who are suffering by no faults of their own. She had put light on the struggles of the refugees. She has given her life for the UNHCR work, which is highly creditable. She not only had been donating funds but also providing personal visits and sharing her opinions for improving their lives. Her physical participation is highly inspiring. And many people like me have been inspired by her to join in various charitable institutions regardless of age.
Sadly, in India adopting a child is gigantic deal. Some people here are yet to open their heart for adopting a child from orphanage citing questions of their background. And here she is who has adopted not just one but three kids and given them home, family and love. She adopted Maddox as single mother when she was just 25 years old. I am 25 right now and not even close to thinking of getting married forget about having children.

Her past was not so elegant and she was taunted as troubled child. She, herself in an interview mentioned that she is lucky to be alive considering the deeds of her past. Yet when presented by an opportunity she chose to be better than her old self. Cultivating bad habits are way easier than leaving them. And yet she has achieved it. She is the living example for knowing- One can change at any moment of life, if decided to do so desperately. Hats off to her.

When I learned from news of her recent decision to undergo preventive double mastectomy, my fist gesture was a salute her. She didn’t need to share her story but she did to bring focus on medical advancements that now such tests and precautions measures are available and no lady should live in fear of getting diagnosis with the deadliest disease. I was sad to hear negative comments from some people post she public this. Many people’s opinion was – “She has money, so it is easy for her to say that.” Well I say shut-up. First of all, she didn’t public it to show her” money”; she public it with purest intention towards ladies all over the world knowing about the medical advancement in this area of disease. She didn’t ask to go through preventive double mastectomy; there are various precautions measures available which are not costly. And it was just an advice made by her, caring for ladies and letting them know- you no more need to fear of dying from this deadly disease. I done my research on the procedure she underwent and let me tell you, the procedure is very painful and Money can’t take away your physical pains, can they?

I have been following her life (Through internet, Newspapers etc.) for a long time now. And I realize I fall more in love with her every day. She has such an impact and influence on me that nobody ever had and I doubt anybody will ever have. I know, I am not the only one who LOVE this lady that much. All her fans and follower has the same impact of her on their lives. But, this lady has changed my point of view to look at my life in different perspectives.  She, unknown to her has changed me and made me a better person. I too have a motive to live a life of use to others.  I knew I love her but after watching Maleficent it was just enlighten how much I love her and I will give / do anything for her to call me “Beasty” (people who watched Maleficent will understand!). Huh I wish!

So, here I take the opportunity on behalf of all her fans, (I know there are as much chances of HER reading this as I can fly to Moon, but still) to Wish this wonderful Actor, Philanthropist, the Mother of Six and my unofficial / fantasized fairy godmother a Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Dedicated to girls (shared)

Dedicated to girls

1. Not every girl wants to get married by 23. So before you ASSUME she's of marriageable age, ask her what her views on marriage are. One hint, might save you the drama- just because she does not want to get married now does not mean she never will. She has other plans for herself right now, let her live a little.

2. Just because a girl wishes to do her PhD after Masters does not mean she doesn't want to settle down in life. Give her a break, and respect the fact that she has the confidence to take that up, cos yeah, PhD is no joke. There will come a point when she would happily devote herself to her family, and balance it out with her work life. Her degrees, or lack of them, won't make any difference. Let her study while she wants to, okay?

3. Just because she is 27 and unmarried does not mean she's been rejected by many men. Maybe, being single is a choice she has made.

4. Having a boyfriend does not make her characterless.

5. Just because she has recently gone through a break up doesn't mean she is vulnerable and available.

6. Just because most of her friends are boys, does not mean she is "having a good time" with all of them.

7. Just because she has a drink in her hand does not mean she is an alcoholic.

8. Just because she wore a short skirt to one party does not mean she dresses up that way every day.

9. Just because she is ambitious doesn't mean she isn't a family person.
10. Just because she doesn't discuss her plans doesn't mean she's clueless about life. Give her a chance, alright?

11. Just because she is outspoken doesn't mean she is a rebel.

12. Just because she comes home late from work does not mean she is sleeping around with her colleagues.

13. After a hectic week, give her some time to relax over the weekend. Don't make that one weekend party make her look like a she's a frivolous party-girl without a job.

14. Just because she is out shopping alone does not mean she is depressed or lonely. It's how she relaxes, respect that.

15. Just because she is on a holiday alone does not mean she doesn't have company. Maybe it's a break to get back her lost confidence, or maybe that's how she is. Admire her spirit instead of giving her advice, okay?

16. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she can't kick ass in military school.

17. Just because she has a tattoo doesn't mean she is attention seeking. Maybe that's her way of expression.

18. Just because she doesn't know how to cook doesn't mean she won't make a good wife. Remember when you were just married and cooked chicken curry which was um, a disaster?

19. Just because she likes everything pink and shiny and fluffy doesn't mean she lives in her own world. She can handle some situations much better than her male counterparts.

20. Just because she is pretty does not mean she is a whore. And just because she is friendly does not mean she is flirting with you.

Yes, we cry, we are emotional; we take things personally, and sometimes over-react to situations. But this does not give any one the right to judge us in the wrong way. Times are changing; don't confine her within those boundaries, no matter how orthodox you are. There are some who might be fighting this losing battle, yet compromising on their decisions and plans, just to please society. Respect n do share... :))

MALEFICENT!!!

 OK! Review Time!

Maleficent a First Live action version of Sleeping Beauty. It always amuses me when an animated version stories, which we have seen for years, are recreated into live action. I am glad for the technology advancement that we can now see real life versions of fairy tales we have been reading or watching (Animated versions) for years!

Maleficent is yet another remarkable live action version. It has everything that we have seen in Sleeping beauty, hardly anything been missed.

Is there a little Princess who grows up to be the most beautiful young lady, yes.

Is there a King and Queen trying to protect their your daughter, yes.

Are there 3 fairies who takes Aurora away to a woodcutter's cottage in the forest until the day of her sixteenth birthday, Yes.

Is there a Villain, Yes.

Is there a Curse, yes.

Is there a counter curse, yes.

Is there a handsome Prince, yes.

And specially, is there a Dragon, oh hell yes!

Then what makes this movie different than the animated version you ask? Well I am not going to spoil the suspense for you. You must only watch it to know it

I can say one thing, you will be amused and surprised at the same time.

Amazing screenplay by Linda Woolverton. After giving wonderful art directions for amazing movies, Robert Stromberg has done magnificent job even though it was his directorial debut. Superb VFX and cinematography. Be ready for lots of awwwws while watching the movie.

And as it was Angelina Jolie I need not say anything about acting. She played Maleficent so splendidly, that you cannot stop to love and hate her at the same time. Her daughter -Vivienne Jolie-Pitt- played young princess Aurora and the way they are shown sharing the screen, though for a little while, took my heart away! All I know -I was sooooooooo jealous of ppl who shared screen with Angie....and that to standing so close to her, splly - Elle Fanning and Sam Riley. I really don't have right to be jealous, but I sure was.

People who love Angei, fantasies, fairy tales and knows the story of Sleeping will enjoy the movie for sure. It is summer treat for all Disney lovers better not miss it.

Personally I cannot get Maleficent out of my head! And I am sure I am gonna see it again, for how many times more, I am not sure of that yet.

What about the negativity of the people? (Shared)

I know that if I am affected by the negativity of other people then I am going to be plunged into the cycle of actions, reactions and responses over which I have no control.  But if I see them, hear them, respect them as human beings and individuals and I understand their point of view, I will not let myself be moved from my position of inner stability.
If I can make sure that I remain my own master, their negativity will flow over me and above me and not influence me.  I can ask myself what it is that I want and then move in the direction to reach that goal.  I can develop the art of detachment, being friends and yet not allowing them to touch me.
I can draw on another analogy here: think of the image of a lotus flower.  It is found in dirty, stagnant water yet the lotus has a waxy substance on its petals and nothing can touch the surface, the dirt just rolls off. I can create that layer of protection so my inner purity and stability remain unaffected by outside influences.  Only in this way can I be true to myself. Otherwise I become a puppet of circumstances and situations that others have created and I am no longer a master of my own feelings and destiny.
I learn to have this protection through the experience of detachment and the awareness of Universal Energies and this will bring a canopy of blessings influencing myself and others around me.

Are You Proud Of Your Dad? (Shared)

Really good one....
Are you proud of your Dad?
On the first day, as President Abraham Lincoln entered to give his inaugural address, Just in the middle, one man stood up.  He was a rich aristocrat.
He said, "Mr. Lincoln, you should not forget that your father used to make shoes for my family ."

And the whole Senate laughed; they thought they had made a fool of Abraham Lincoln.
But Lincoln and that type of people are made of a totally different mettle.
Lincoln looked at the man and said, " Sir I know that my father used to make shoes in your house for your family, and there will be many others here…. Because the way he made shoes; nobody else can.

He was a creator. His shoes were not just shoes; he poured his whole soul in it.
I want to ask you, have you any complaint?  Because I know how to make shoes myself.
If you have any complaint, I can make another pair of shoes.
But as far as I know, nobody has ever complained about my father's shoes.

He was a genius, a great creator and I am proud of my father".
The whole Senate was struck dumb. They could not understand what kind of Man Abraham Lincoln was.
He was proud because his father did the job so well that not even a single complaint had ever been heard.
Moral of the story
Are you proud or embarrassed of your dad and what he used to do for a living?
"No one can hurt you without your consent."
" It is not what happens to us that hurts us. It is our response that hurts us."

SELF-CONTEMPLATION: LOVING ME (Shared!)

The more I love myself, the less I will need love from others. Does it resonate with you? This is the eternal truth which we miss in our life. No one taught us to love ourselves. We were told to have high self-esteem,be self-confident but not much about loving the self.

What do we all seek in relationships?LOVE, right? The key to experience love in relationships is to first feel the love from within. Peace, love and happiness are the most popular intangible rock stars that the whole world is dying to seek. But the truth is they are not out there, but waiting to be rediscovered within.

In fact I am peace, I am love and I am happiness.I, the being of light resonate in the frequency of peace, love and happiness based on my moments. Each frequency or vibrations of peace, love or happiness give me different experience. This is why we all prefer and seek to be peaceful, loving and happy. It is my original nature. So the whole life, we run after love trying to experience it with different people in different relationships. We do experience it momentarily but we all realize at some point that we cannot get it from anyone continuously.Sometimes I get, sometimes I don’t.

When I don’t get love, I fight, argue, quarrel, demand, beg, and in return get hurt, frustrated, angry...I need to love myself because I am love itself. All others are trigger points for my love.

When someone loves me, he/she is basically triggering the love within me.How can I invoke and feel my love? When,I accept myself for Who I AM – no judgments I treat myself with sweetness and care – not being hard on me.I appreciate myself for all that I am and I am doing – no criticism. With lot of tenderness and gentleness, I teach myself, correct myself, and tune myself – not being mean and guilty.

I express myself with openness and trust –not suppress with stress, social opinions and fear.I respect myself for all my specialties, strengths and my unique flavour, I add to the world – not being down, jealous, comparing.I am clear with myself using truth and honesty – not getting confused or thinking too much.I embrace my weaknesses acknowledging its presence within me but also realizing that it is not me – not feeling guilty or awful, being at some bad place, e.g., anger is present in me, but I am not anger; I am love.
When I start embracing the love within me, I automatically share that love with others – all my needs and wants disappear and I no longer seek love but give love to all in the universe.
