Are You Proud Of Your Dad? (Shared)

Really good one....
Are you proud of your Dad?
On the first day, as President Abraham Lincoln entered to give his inaugural address, Just in the middle, one man stood up.  He was a rich aristocrat.
He said, "Mr. Lincoln, you should not forget that your father used to make shoes for my family ."

And the whole Senate laughed; they thought they had made a fool of Abraham Lincoln.
But Lincoln and that type of people are made of a totally different mettle.
Lincoln looked at the man and said, " Sir I know that my father used to make shoes in your house for your family, and there will be many others here…. Because the way he made shoes; nobody else can.

He was a creator. His shoes were not just shoes; he poured his whole soul in it.
I want to ask you, have you any complaint?  Because I know how to make shoes myself.
If you have any complaint, I can make another pair of shoes.
But as far as I know, nobody has ever complained about my father's shoes.

He was a genius, a great creator and I am proud of my father".
The whole Senate was struck dumb. They could not understand what kind of Man Abraham Lincoln was.
He was proud because his father did the job so well that not even a single complaint had ever been heard.
Moral of the story
Are you proud or embarrassed of your dad and what he used to do for a living?
"No one can hurt you without your consent."
" It is not what happens to us that hurts us. It is our response that hurts us."

SELF-CONTEMPLATION: LOVING ME (Shared!)

The more I love myself, the less I will need love from others. Does it resonate with you? This is the eternal truth which we miss in our life. No one taught us to love ourselves. We were told to have high self-esteem,be self-confident but not much about loving the self.

What do we all seek in relationships?LOVE, right? The key to experience love in relationships is to first feel the love from within. Peace, love and happiness are the most popular intangible rock stars that the whole world is dying to seek. But the truth is they are not out there, but waiting to be rediscovered within.

In fact I am peace, I am love and I am happiness.I, the being of light resonate in the frequency of peace, love and happiness based on my moments. Each frequency or vibrations of peace, love or happiness give me different experience. This is why we all prefer and seek to be peaceful, loving and happy. It is my original nature. So the whole life, we run after love trying to experience it with different people in different relationships. We do experience it momentarily but we all realize at some point that we cannot get it from anyone continuously.Sometimes I get, sometimes I don’t.

When I don’t get love, I fight, argue, quarrel, demand, beg, and in return get hurt, frustrated, angry...I need to love myself because I am love itself. All others are trigger points for my love.

When someone loves me, he/she is basically triggering the love within me.How can I invoke and feel my love? When,I accept myself for Who I AM – no judgments I treat myself with sweetness and care – not being hard on me.I appreciate myself for all that I am and I am doing – no criticism. With lot of tenderness and gentleness, I teach myself, correct myself, and tune myself – not being mean and guilty.

I express myself with openness and trust –not suppress with stress, social opinions and fear.I respect myself for all my specialties, strengths and my unique flavour, I add to the world – not being down, jealous, comparing.I am clear with myself using truth and honesty – not getting confused or thinking too much.I embrace my weaknesses acknowledging its presence within me but also realizing that it is not me – not feeling guilty or awful, being at some bad place, e.g., anger is present in me, but I am not anger; I am love.
When I start embracing the love within me, I automatically share that love with others – all my needs and wants disappear and I no longer seek love but give love to all in the universe.

My MOM is MY Best Friend.

There is nothing in this world that can take place of mother. She is best creation of Universe!

My mom is my Best Friend.

She is the one who has always been there for me, on my every need. Whenever I am down, she is the one who tries her best to bring Smile on my face, tries to cheer me up, counsel me to get through the tough days.
She fights with others if they ever treat me bad. I am her weakest point and she makes no stone unturned to let the world know it.

Yes, there comes time when she gets mad at me, scolds me sometimes even spank me. But I do know it is only for my own good. She wants me to be the best in world hence she never support my bad behavior.
She is the one who overflows with joy when something good has come on my way.  Even though my achievements are small, she cannot stop to brag about my success to others.

Many a times my friends have failed me and world has given me plenty of reasons to lose faith in humanity. But it is my Mom who keeps me going with the good deeds as she believes – “What’s goes around, comes around.” She always advices me not to have attitude of Tit for Tat, as nothing goods come from it. If people fails you, you should never joins there way as the motive of life should be to spread happiness.   And it is the only way of gaining happiness of ourselves.

I am not a girly girl. I am least interested in household works. And that sometimes irritates my Mom. But she has never ever forced me to do something I don’t have will of doing. She give me advices, but let me take my own decisions.

As my age being crucial and heavy target of questions like “When are you going to get Married?” It is my Mom who speaks on behalf of me and tell off others saying “I won’t force her into marriage until she says she is ready. My daughter is not a Burden on me, and we are ready to have her in our house as long as she wants to. And we will let her go when she finds her partner to spend her entire life with.”

It is her confidence in me that encourages me to share each and everything with her. I cannot hide anything from her. And I am glad to the fact that I can be transparent with her about everything. I share  my future goals, my dreams with her and she keeps on encouraging to take steps to achieve them and never to give up no matter how hard to accomplish they seems.  She knows my failed love life and has been the strongest pillar to me to get over it. She knows all my crushes and discusses it with possibility if one day I could be serious about one of them.

My mom is bestest (If that’s a word) gift to me. It is her upbringing that made my life so vibrant. And I am sure one day with her blessings I will achieve all my dream goals and she will be there giving me Thumbs-Up and saying “I told You so.”

There is no one in this world can take my Mom’s place in my life. And I cannot love her more. And I know each and every person has the same view towards their mothers too.

So here I wish all the My Super Mom and all the Mothers in the world a Very HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

One of the best story

One young man went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the initial interview, and now would meet the director for the final interview.
The director discovered from his CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent. He asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "no".
" Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"
"My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.” he replied.
" Where did your mother work?"
"My mother worked as clothes cleaner.”
The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.
" Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?"
"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Besides, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.
The director said, "I have a request. When you go home today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.
The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high.
When he went back home, he asked his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to her son.
The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother winced when he touched it.
This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fees. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his education, his school activities and his future.
After cleaning his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.
That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.
Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.
The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, when he asked: "Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"
The youth answered," I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
“I know now what appreciation is. Without my mother, I would not be who I am today. By helping my mother, only now do I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done on your own. And I have come to appreciate the importance and value of helping one’s family.
The director said, "This is what I am looking for in a manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life.”
“You are hired.”
This young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and worked as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.
A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop an "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, they may be successful for a while, but eventually they would not feel a sense of achievement. They will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying our children instead?
You can let your child live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch on a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your child learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

Life is all about. by Brigitte

Some days your life is all about your dreams, hopes and visions for the future. But there are some days where life is just about putting one foot  in front of the other…and that’s okay.
Grandmother says… Carrots, Eggs, or Coffee; “Which are you?”A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.
Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her granddaughter, she asked, “Tell me what do you see?”
“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they got soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it.
After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The granddaughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma. The granddaughter then asked. “What’s the point, grandmother?”
Her grandmother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity–boiling water–but each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
“Which are you?” she asked her granddaughter.
“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”
Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff?
Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level?

Story: Cracked Pots

Inline images 1

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his master's house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you."

"Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?"

"I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer for its failure.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master's table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house."

“I wish you enough”

Written by Bob Perks

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter’s departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: “I wish you enough.”The daughter replied, “Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.” They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, “Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?” “Yes, I have,” I replied. “Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?”"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral,” she said.
When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, “I wish you enough.” May I ask what that means?”
She began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.” She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more.
“When we said ‘I wish you enough’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them”. Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory,
“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.”
She then began to cry and walked away.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person. An hour to appreciate them. A day to love them. And an entire life to forget them.
